West Northamptonshire Councillor for Daventry East Ward

DAVID JAMES was first elected to Daventry District Council in 2012 for the Abbey North Ward and re-elected again in 2015. 

He served as Chairman of the Council in 2017 and held the Portfolio for Regeneration being responsible for steering through several projects including the A45 Daventry Development Link Road, the Catesby Tunnel Project, the Arc cinema development, Industrial development at The Knoll, provision of the Reach for Health Building, Refurbishment of Daventry Country Park, and the Daventry Town Centre Vision.  Projects that proved unviable due to the Financial crisis and changing shopping habits were successfully ceased.  

David served continuously on the Daventry Planning Committee in addition to Scrutiny and Audit Committees.  

Elected to West Northamptonshire Council in 2021 for Daventry East, he is currently a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, the Corporate Scrutiny Committee and sits on the Community Grants Panel in addition to representing W.N.C. on Northamptonshire ACRE and the West Northants & Rugby Crematorium joint Committee.
