Stuart Andrew was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Daventry Constituency at the General Election held on Thursday 4th July 2024. He has been appointed as the Shadow Opposition Chief Whip.
I am honoured to be chosen as your Conservative candidate for Daventry. Over the past 20 years, I have served as a councillor and for the past 14 years the MP for Pudsey. With my current constituency dissolving due to boundary changes, I am eager to continue my public service. I have already moved into the constituency and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. As an MP and minister, I have achieved significant milestones, including saving the Yorkshire children’s heart unit, protecting greenbelt sites, securing nearly £1 billion for a new hospital, obtaining £20 million for road improvements, and securing regional investment. I am excited to bring this dedication and success to Daventry and build on the excellent work already underway.
Chris Heaton-Harris, outgoing MP for Daventry says "Representing the Daventry Constituency for the past 14 years has been an honour. Stuart Andrew is a hardworking and compassionate MP, and I am delighted he has been chosen as the Conservative candidate to succeed me. His dedication ensures that Daventry remains well-represented"
