I live in Yelvertoft and have been an active member of the community since 1973. I have been a Parish Councillor for over 40 years, its Chairman for 25, and a District Councillor since 2009. With Daventry District Council I held the portfolio for Strategic Planning and am currently a member of the Strategic Planning Committee at WNC.
My entire professional life was spent in Higher Education and I retired as Head of Computing and Software Engineering at Coventry University. For many years I was retained as a consultant by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in England and visited many universities to report on their provision of teaching.
During my time as a Councillor I have been an active member of Planning and Licensing Committees. I have also acted as Disability Champion and Heritage Champion. My knowledge and understanding of small rural communities have stood me in good stead when serving my constituents.
