Last night the local Conservative Party were delighted to win both Brixworth and Braunston and Crick Divisions.
Cecile Irving-Swift, the candidate for Brixworth, received over 50% of votes cast on Thursday 3rd July. The results were as follows;
IRVING-SWIFT, Cecile (Conservative) 1297 votes
JONES,Daniel (Liberal Democrat) 69 votes
MCNALLY, Robert (Labour) 248 votes
POINTER,Stephen (UKIP) 500 votes
WHIFFEN,Stephen (Green Party) 228 votes
This shows a 4.36% swing to the Conservatives and a 3.04% swing away from UKIP.
Malcolm Longley, the candidate for Braunston and Crick, secured a narrow victory following a tough election campaign within the Division. The results were as follows;
CAMPBELL, Abigail (Labour) 989 votes
LONGLEY,Malcolm (Conservative) 1019 votes
MACANNDRAIS,Eric (UKIP) 506 votes
This shows a 6.50% swing towards the Conservatives, a 9.49% swing to Labour and a 11.34% swing away from UKIP.
